| Judy Solomon, MSW, LCSW, MPH
Supervisor of the Tomorrows Children's Institute's Social Workers
Judy Solomon has a variety of special interests, including running parent support groups, program development, parent and staff bereavement services, and secondary trauma relief for staff at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital. She also acts as a liaison to the Tomorrows Children’s Fund, the Family Advisory Council of the inpatient pediatric oncology unit at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, and Jewish communities throughout the tri-state area. She has dedicated her efforts exclusively to the pediatric oncology population since 1985. Judy has received advanced training in Palliative Care and is active in a variety of committees in the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital with regard to palliative and end-of-life care. Most recently she co-authored a chapter in the Oxford Textbook on Social Work and Palliative Care.
Ms. Solomon is a long standing member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers and the National Association of Social Workers.
Adriana Acosta, MSW, LSW
Adriana Acosta graduated from Rutgers University School of Social Work in 2005. She has been in the hematology/oncology field for five years. As a bilingual social worker, her interest focuses on creating bilingual support services for families. Currently, Adriana co-facilitates the sickle cell support group and has been actively involved in the creation and implementation of several programs to provide improved services for TCI families. Ms. Acosta is a member of The Association of Pediatrics Oncology Social Workers.
Gregory Hedler, MSW, LCSW
Greg Hedler has been involved with the Hematology/Oncology community for the last seven years. He graduated from Fordham University's School of Social Work in 2006 and received the Rev. John J. McCarthy Award for outstanding performance in his field work completed at Tomorrows Children's Institute. Upon graduation, Greg was hired and joined the social work team in a role that focuses on TCI’s sickle cell and oncology population. Currently, he co-facilitates the sickle cell parent support group. Most recently he has been identified as a key person to represent the sickle cell population in the State of New Jersey. He has reached out to numerous community organizations to help foster better communication and services for the sickle cell population. Mr. Hedler is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers.
Andrea Inauen, MSW, LSW
Andrea Inauen graduated from Rutgers University's School of Social Work in 2002. She was so successful as an intern at the Tomorrows Children's Institute that she was hired upon graduation.
Ms. Inauen works primarily with the stem cell transplant team. She has implemented many new services for families of bone marrow transplant patients. In addition, she recently coordinated and implemented a reunion for patients, families, and staff of the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. She is currently involved in a research project on families of bone marrow transplant patients. Her ability to speak fluent Spanish is also an asset to the patients and staff.
Ms. Inauen is a member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers.
Libby Klein, MSW, LCSW
Libby Klein has been working in the field of adult oncology for more than 20 years in both the hospital and community agency setting. She joined the Tomorrows Children's Institute as the social worker dedicated to Cure and Beyond, the long- term pediatric survivorship program. Ms. Klein's special interests include developing and leading workshops tailored to the needs of survivors and their parents; research on quality of life issues and late effects of treatment; and using a multidisciplinary team approach to educate survivors about how to take charge of their health maintenance and surveillance. In addition, she is pursuing advanced training in family therapy.
Ms. Klein is a member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers, the Association of Oncology Social Workers, and the National Association of Social Workers.
Margaret O'Neill, MSW, LCSW
Margaret O'Neill has been working in the field of Hematology/Oncology for the past ten years. She is especially interested in facilitating support groups for parents and utilizes meditation techniques as a means to offset the effects of stress. Margaret has received additional training in Hypnosis, Thanatology and Palliative Care. She co-facilitates a parents’ bereavement group.
Ms. O'Neill is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
