| Judy Solomon, LCSW, MPH
Supervisor of The Tomorrows Children's Institute's Social Workers
Judy Solomon has a variety of special interests, including running parent support
groups, program development, parent and staff bereavement services, and
acting as a liaison to the Jewish communities. She has dedicated her efforts exclusively to the pediatric oncology population since 1985.
Ms. Solomon is a long standing member of The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers, National Association of Social Workers, Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care, and Childhood Subcommittee of The American Cancer Society.
Gregory Hedler, MSW, LSW
Greg Hedler has been involved with the Hematology/Oncology community for the last seven years. He graduated from Fordham University's School of Social Work in 2006 and received the Rev. John J. McCarthy Award for outstanding performance in his field work completed at Tomorrows Children's Institute. Upon graduation, Greg was hired and joined the social work team in a role that focuses on TCI’s sickle cell and oncology population. Currently, he co-facilitates the sickle cell parent support group and is in collaboration with his team to create a parent orientation program to be offered to new TCI parents.
Mr. Hedler is a member of The National Association of Social Workers and The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers
Libby Klein, MSW, LCSW
Libby Klein has been working in the field of adult oncology for 20 years in both
the hospital and community agency setting. She has recently joined Tomorrows
Children's Institute as the social worker dedicated to Cure and Beyond, the long-
term pediatric survivorship program. Ms. Klein's special interests include
developing and leading workshops tailored to the needs of survivors and their
parents; research on quality of life issues and late effects of treatment; and using
a multidisciplinary team approach to educate survivors about how to take charge
of their health maintenance and surveillance.
Ms. Klein is a member of The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers, The Association of Oncology Social Workers, and The National Association of Social Workers.
Margaret O'Neill, MSW, LCSW
Margaret O'Neill has been working in the field of Hematology/Oncology for the
past five years. She is especially interested in facilitating support groups and utilizes meditation techniques as a means to offset the effects of stress.
Presently Margaret is facilitating support groups for parents of three to five year old oncology patients and co-facilitates a parent bereavement group. Margaret also works one day a week at our Tomorrows Children's Institute (TCI West) satellite facility in Morris County. She is committed to developing parent support groups at this satellite facility in an effort to better serve families in the TCI West area.
Ms. O'Neill is a member of The National Association of Social Workers.
Andrea Pelano, MSW, LSW
Andrea Pelano graduated from Rutgers University's School of Social Work in
2002. She was so successful as an intern at The Tomorrows Children's Institute
that she was hired upon graduation.
Ms. Pelano works primarily with the stem cell transplant team. She has
implemented many new services for families of bone marrow transplant patients,
such as a community based hospitality program and a weekly inpatient parent
support group. In addition, she recently coordinated and implemented a reunion
for patients, families, and staff of The Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. Her ability to speak fluent Spanish is also an asset to the patients and staff.
Ms. Pelano is a member of The Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers.
